Fresh Starts

I'm hoping that TODAY will be the actual beginning of my blogging life. I've dipped my toe in the proverbial pond of blogging, drank the kool-aid and now I've decided that this is something that I want to add to my life.

I get so much inspiration and joy from reading the words of others and seeing their work. I want to contribute to this community.

I'd like to begin today, with a photo of the most recent happening in my life: PUPPIES -- 10 of them to be exact. 9 boys, 1 girl

This is an image of them at about 1 week old. Now, at three weeks - their eyes are open, they can hear and are just starting to eat some soaked kibble.

I know this isn't quilt related, but this blog will contain bits and pieces from all areas of my life - quilting, dogs, cooking, gardening, books and travel. This is who I am and what I am about. I'm planning to write in a journal format...to help me keep track of my growth as a quilter and a record of the major home renovation I'm planning to undertake in the next few years..........

Does anyone have any good book recommendations? I'm looking for some new reads, the nights are VERY long with these new pups.

  1. OMG! Love those babies. Berners, right? Swissy pups are just a tiny bit smoother when they are born. Look at those perfect markings! What a great litter you have!.I am sooooo jealous, I miss my Swissy babies!

  2. Oh my you are truly blessed!!! Those look like Bernese Mountain dogs I love the breed!!!
I am on my second Greater Swiss Mountain dog as our first passed away due to idiopathic epilepsy it took two years to get the courage to get another. He is just 3 months and just had surgery for an intestinal blockage!
Wish you lived closer as I think you must be a kindred spirit! Enjoy the pups they will soon be going to their new homes which I am sure is bittersweet.
Love the quilt of the Bernese on your header! So happy I came across your blog!
